the extent to which i've changed since i last wrote is shocking.
the extent to which my world has changed since i last wrote is even more shocking.
and if i'm going to accommodate both of those changes, then my blog is going to have to change, too. in style, in essence, maybe i'll throw in a new name, too. ha. you know me; i've never been able to last long without a blog makeover. i'm letting go of the persona i've held since i was eight years old. goodbye girlradio. goodbye nerd glasses and wanderlust, and the rest of the phases i've been through. i'm starting a new blog. i said it. sublime, my new blog, will be ready in a few weeks. more than the way it looks and the name, this time i'll be delivering different content. my high-powered feminist rants will be here to stay, but you'll be seeing a new side of me, the actual vulnerable human side ridden with emotions. the twelve-year-old that you've never seen. this blog will always be up, so i can remind myself of my beginning on the interwebs - but i'm moving forward in the best ways. so there's your teeny glimpse at what i'm working on and what's been consuming me since my last post.
so as my last post here on this blog, i wanted to talk about what has changed since i last posted.

  • lol excuse me trump is president?? um that happened like half a month ago but i'm. not. over. it. i'm 500% serious when i say that i don't understand how our nation could have voted for an orange scumbag that reverses the progress america has made the last few decades. i drafted two posts, one when he was initially elected and one after the inauguration, but i never ended up finishing them. trust me - this is the most condensed version of all the thoughts i have, but that's not to say i don't have opinions. bahahahajaha when haven't i.
  • i got a twitter! and tbh it's my preferred social media platform rn bc it's basically a community of people who rant 25/8. i don't mean to sound like a teenager but lmao my tweets convey the rawest, realest version of myself. writing about the little bits and pieces of my life, even if it's only in 140 characters, help me come to terms with them. and being able to express myself is the biggest part of the transformation i've undergone. follow me @snayhaah ;))
  • my troye sivan obsession has grown to its peak. there's no moment in the day that i'm not either listening to his music, watching his fetus youtube videos, or thinking about song lyrics of his that i could use as instagram captions. let me spell it out for you: i'm that one girl who should probably be troye's pr manager bc you know i let everyone at school know when his music video for heaven was coming out. asdfghjkl i need a new album like rn.
  • OML MY LIFE GOAL IS TO BE ONE OF THE KIDS FROM STRANGER THINGS LIKE WHY AREN'T I ALREADY. eleven's my spirit animal and idek if i told yall but i dressed up as her for halloween. and there's this one h&m bomber jacket i bought as part of the costume that i wear every day, even when the weather doesn't call for it, so i can live my life as bombdiggity as she does. mileven jancy fillie agh. and dustin. how could i forget about dustin.
  • middle school has come into full blast. i've learned a lot more about real friends and snakes, and these past few months i've dealt with both. if i'm being honest i've literally met so many people who are such a big part of my life that i could never give them enough credit. the kind of people who stay up late texting me with the best advice, who share pinterest boards with me of all the instagram pictures we should take together, who never gave up on me even when i was dealing with the worst. tysm. i needed you and you were there. and even as a person myself, i've changed from not the people that i've met, but what i've gone through. a few days ago it was valentine's day, and it had been only a month since i had cut a toxic group of friends out of my life. and honestly, that day i learned what it felt like to be appreciated. i was overwhelmed with brownies & candy & rice krispies & balloons & letters & boba. and middle school has also brought a tighter schedule. i'm more busy, but that means i've learned time management and how to make time for the things that matter. and that's one of the most crucial things i've picked up on.
  • i've grown as a feminist. i still believe in activism for the rights of women, the lgbtq community, and people of color; that'll never change. but i've also been reading about the concept of reverse discrimination and whether that really does exist in our society. to prove that feminism is about gender equality as a whole - and that that's what i firmly believe in - i've been researching male victims of rape and domestic violence. i've also been learning about prejudice against whites around the world. and to prove that i'm open to different beliefs and ideas, i've watched a few of lauren southern's videos (even though some of the things she says outrage me), from the point of view of someone with firm left-wing beliefs. when sublime comes out, you can expect a breakdown post about some of the discrimination men and the white community face.
and that's all i have to say :) this is something of a closing post on this blog, except for the post in which i'll share sublime with y'all, ofc. hopefully we can work our way into these new changes together, and i'm looking forward to interacting with old and new blogging friends on sublime
